Opening the doors to Castle Complements came in June of 2000. Mathew, recently home from the U.S. Army, got a phone call from an aunt who had a friend that needed some painting done. Painting this customer's castle led to the next step.
Previous to his military endeavor he had painted with his mother, Debi. She was a painter and wallpaper installer by trade for almost 20 years at the time. Many customers saw this duo paint together for the first 5 years in business, working strictly by word of mouth. Business steadily increased and Mathew took on his first of many employees.
Today, word of mouth is strong. Original customers still call to say hi - and best of all, we are still beautifying castles. In 2018, 51% of our projects were from repeat happy customers.

Knowledge: everyone on the team has to know the best way to efficiently and effectively complete a project, and the products best suited for the longest lasting outcome. Every month, all employees are trained on current practices, best application methods, customer service and technical skills.
Honesty: we do what we say and follow through. If we quoted for 2 coats - you get 2 coats applied. When a project takes a different approach than planned, we will always do what is best for the longest lasting outcome.

The people behind the work
Mathew Richards
Mathew started Castle Complements at the age of 23. Before that he was a Combat Engineer in the Army, where he served at Fort Campbell, KY and at Camp Howze in South Korea. When not painting he loves to spend time with his wife, son and daughter.
Charles "Chuck" Griffin
Chuck, a foreman, has 20+ years of painting experience. He brings knowledge of new construction painting methods, spraying aptitude and overall job site acumen. He also ran his own painting business for 5 years, and once painted an 80-foot flag pole from an aerial lift. He's our gentle giant at 6'5" tall.
Daniel "Dan" Wilson
Dan grew up in Belmont, Mass. and has painted for more than 23 years - including at Mitre Corporation, King's Chapel, Park Street Church and Rowes Wharf in Boston, and from an aerial lift over 100 feet up. Coming from a family run business, he has been an asset to our paint family. He loves systems and getting things done.
Nicholas "Nick" Toe
Nick has 4+ years of painting experience and comes from a commercial painting background. Born and raised in Brazil, he enlisted in the Brazilian Army after high school and moved to the US in 2004. When not at work making your castle beautiful, he spends his time with his wife and daughter.
